Job Summary:
CSIS is seeking an assistant to join the Web & Multimedia team. This position reports to the Web Director and provides support for the production of online video and audio content, the CSIS Web site, CSIS iTunes U site, and other related functions.
Description of Duties:
Film, edit, and produce short video and audio pieces for an online audience.
Audio & video recording and live webcasting of CSIS events.
Liaises with CSIS programs, projects, and departments to ensure online content is updated in a timely fashion.
Works with CSIS programs to create content related to their research, events and publications.
Assist with the maintenance of content on the CSIS.org & iTunes U sites using HTML, Content Management System, and RSS/XML.
Monitors new and existing online content to ensure it is consistent with CSIS style guidelines.
Assist with training and support of CSIS content managers in the website CMS.
Use promotional tools including email campaigns and social media to disseminate CSIS content.
Maintain access rights (permissions) for CSIS content manager and special member sections.
Compile reports on web site and multimedia traffic.
Skills and Experience:
Successful applicants will have a BA degree and a minimum of one year related experience. Must demonstrate attention to detail, have the ability to manage competing priorities, and independently fix problems related to video, audio and website. Thorough understanding of web, multimedia technologies and conventions is important. Demonstrated understanding of audio and video production for the web is required. Applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to operate in a team environment. Strong writing and editing skills preferred. An interest or background in international relations is preferred. The following technical skills are required: basic HTML, audio editing, video editing, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and the Mac operating system. Experience with motion graphics is a plus.
