1. VSM Casting has been hired to cast a male and female couple, white, who appear to be in their 40s or 50s for a regional TV commercial. You will be paid $250 per day, per person, PLUS you will be flown ALL EXPENSES PAID for a weekend at an upscale Southwestern resort, where they will film you enjoying the many elegant amenities of this resort and casino, including swimming, hot tub, golf, dancing, casino, spa, and your very own luxury suite. You do not have to be a great dancer or golfer, just enjoy yourself trying each new thing the resort offers. Cameras will follow you around in a ‘reality’ style fashion, to show how much fun a vacation at this luxury travel destination can be.

Seeking real people, fun-loving couple, reasonably fit, who get along well together. No acting experience necessary, but should be comfortable in front of a camera. Kentucky couple preferred, but not mandatory. Must be free to fly out for the weekend of April 13th – 15th.

If interested, send a current photo of both together ASAP to vin@vsmcasting.com, along with all contact info (phone, email and agent, if you have one), current ages, and a few sentences of why you need a spontaneous weekend getaway.

We will review the photos, and those selected will be called in for a short video interview in Louisville on April 4th, 5th or 6th. Again, you must be free to fly to the resort (did I mention all expenses paid?) on the weekend of April 13th. Rush deadline, so send in your photo to vin@vsmcasting.com today!

SHEPARD KRILL – Male - Lead – 30s to 40s - any ethnicity

NOTE: This is a physically demanding role with a fight scene with the Art Collector.
There will be nighttime motorcycle riding.

THE ART COLLECTOR – Male - Lead – 20s to 50s - Caucasian

His appearance, manner of dress and body language means his presence almost always goes un-noticed.

For the teaser the art collector has no lines and is never fully seen on screen. His identity remains a mystery throughout. He is small in stature (5’ or under), pale skinned, no distinguishing features. 3 days of work.

NOTE: This is a physically demanding role with a fight scene with the biker.

DEBORAH ALMOND – Female – Supporting – 30s to 50s - any size, shape, ethnicity

She is the assistant District Attorney. She is very well groomed and serious about her career. She has to debrief detective Jim Morrison on an unusual case. Normally a “see spot run” task that is a bit awkward because of her “history” with detective Morrison. 1 day of work.

JIM MORRISON – Male – Supporting – 40s to 60s - any size, shape, ethnicity
Detective Morrison is a homicide detective. He’s a man content with where his career has landed him. He is normally serious and “all business” when working a case. He considerers himself well groomed, but he would be the only one to think so. 1 day of work.

GAS STATION EMPLOYEE – Female – 18 to 25 – any size, shape, ethnicity
The employee is just starting another typical day. The employee will need a good “shocked” expression and a talent for fainting. The employee has no scripted lines of dialog but may be asked to improvise lines or dance along to an mp3 player as she reads the pumps. 1 day of work

NOTE: This is a physical role in that it requires the ability to “faint” and fall to the ground.

We are accepting headshots and resumes for this and future projects. Shoot dates are 5 days over the last 2 weeks in April 2012. This is a “micro” budget teaser. Lead and supporting actors will be paid $100.00 a day, but we are unable to house actors, so they must be willing to work as locals.

SYNOPSIS: NO ONE messes with Shepard Krill. As the praetorian of his motorcycle gang, Shepard has always used his immense size to mete out his brand of justice against those who would seek to do the gang harm. A trail of broken bones and shallow graves serves as his resume, and he fears nothing or no one. On this night, riding home from a recent ”justice” session, he stops at a local diner for a cup of coffee. Tonight he will meet his fate. Tonight he will become just another victim of true evil. Tonight Shepard Krill will learn true fear.

There will be fourteen to twenty-one shooting days over the course of July and August 2012 (September a possibility for pick-up shots), duration/schedule pending actor and location availability.

The Story:
When memories are the only artifacts of a fallen world, a young man will stop at nothing to save his brother from becoming one of the creatures they have spent their lives running from.

Available Roles:
MAX: Male, 18-23 years old. In a barren land where only the most ruthless survive, Max is the exception. Likely the youngest survivor, he remembers little of the downfall of man and is not scarred by the horrors his brother experienced. Although Max never knew the world as it was before, he is able to see into the minds of other survivors, piecing together his own idea of what life used to be like. He is enthralled by art, music, and the wonders of everyday life, notions that have been all but forgotten years down the line. His preoccupation with the past results in carelessness. He becomes one of the less-than-human monsters that roam the destroyed earth, and the memories he clings to splinter into a living nightmare as he struggles not to harm the one person who has kept him safe all his life. [PAID ROLE]
LIAM: Male, 18-26. When Liam was a child, the world was collapsing around him. All his life he has taken care of his brother, who remembers nothing of what was lost. Haunted by what he has seen, Liam travels the countryside with Max and distrusts other survivors. Although he is also able to delve into the memories of others, Liam chooses not to, opting instead to focus on surviving their present trials. When, like the rest of mankind, Max begins turning into something violent, something inhuman, Liam refuses to lose his brother and instead risks everything for one small chance at breaking through Max’s fractured mind and getting his brother back. [PAID ROLE]
ALAN: Male, 45-75. The man who brought down the world. Gleefully malicious, condescending, and proud. Actor’s face will be covered with makeup and prosthetics; talent must not be allergic to latex. One to three days of shooting. [PAID ROLE]
YOUNG ALAN: Male, 20-30. A cocky young man with abilities the world has never seen before. Outraged when his gifts are met with fear instead of awe, he decides to prove those afraid of him exactly how much of a monster he can become. One to three days of shooting. [PAID ROLE]
SURVIVORS: Males & Females, 30-60. Worn, tough refugees of a fallen world who have survived this long by being cold, determined, and merciless. Engrained with less-than-savory ethics, they are not pleased when Liam protects one of the very monsters they seek to destroy. A wide variety of types are encouraged to submit; upon submission a role (or roles) will be selected to read for. Fight experience a plus but not a necessity. [Certain survivors are featured, paid roles. Others will receive gas reimbursement, food, DVD copy, and credit.]
SECONDARY ROLES: Individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to submit, as there are many ‘memory’ scenes that recreate a variety of situations. Some of these memories will be surreal/dreamlike and therefore actors with unique talents (dance, painting, music, sports, etc.) are urged to apply. Speaking and non-speaking roles available. All ages needed. Seeking ‘character actors’ – father, girl next door, dancer, school kid, etc. [Payment for certain roles depends on screentime. Food, DVD, credit. Gas reimbursement depending on role and distance traveled.]
YOUNG MAX: Male, 4-8. Casting will largely depend on resemblance to the actor playing Max. Will be selected after preliminary casting. One to three days of filming needed, parent or guardian must be present on set. [Small monetary payment, gas, food, DVD, and credit.]
YOUNG LIAM: Male, 7-12. Casting will largely depend on resemblance to the actor playing Liam. Will be selected after preliminary casting. One to three days of filming needed, parent or guardian must be present on set. [Small monetary payment, gas, food, DVD, and credit.]
Compenstion:
As the film has a set budget and rate of pay will go by day of filming, exact rates can not be provided until potential actors’ schedules are known and a filming schedule is set. Pay rate is variable depending on the length of filming days, but will nonetheless fall within $50-$100 a day for principle actors. As this is independently funded by the writer/director, most secondary roles will not be given a pay rate, but gas will be reimbursed for all actors, meals will be provided on set, a copy of the DVD will be given to each actor (by December 2013, after festival run), and IMDB credit will be provided. Upon request, the editor can provide a reel for actors of their individual scenes.

How to Apply:
Resume and at least one headshot (two or more photos encouraged, no more than four) must be submitted to WondriaFilms@gmail.com by March 31st. Email subject line must read “Sleep, Wake, Forget – Talent Submission – (your last name)”. In the message text, please include what roles you are submitting for and any additional informational information you feel is applicable.

Please submit any questions to WondriaFilms@gmail.com with the subject “Sleep, Wake, Forget – Inquiry – (your last name)” and allow 72 hours for reply. Talent submissions may require up to two weeks for reply.

2. Around Town Productions is shooting a 90 minute feature documentary on the sport of running. "A Long Run" is following the founder of Runner's World magazine as he celebrates 50 years of running and racing. The challenge itself is not that amazing. However, to race 5k to the half marathon each weekend at an average pace of under 7 minutes per mile (at least 350 miles) makes it more of a challenge. Equally challening is that 64-year-old Bob Anderson works full time as the CEO and chief photographer of the Ujena Swimwear Company he founded in 1984.

The focus of the film is on Bob and his journey but it is also about runners he knows or well meet along the way. "Our goal is to make a running film that will inspire people to get out the door to run. If people start lacing up your their running shoes after watching our film, then we produced the film we wanted," says director Michael Anderson.

We are looking for an athletic minded camera operator to join our camera crew. This will be your opportunity to bring your creativity to a feature film.

This will be Around Town Productions fifth completed film. Our first, What About Cuba was screened at the Victoria Theater in San Francisco to over 500 people.

One aspect of promoting this film, is that the entire feature is being filmed with DSLR and GoPro cameras. We are looking for an operator that has their own DSLR equipment and has experience shooting sports.

Credit and epenses will be covered. Email resume with link to demo real. Tell us why you should be part of the "A Long Run" production team.

Send email to director Michael Anderson michael@alongrun.com

1. Casting for "Mom-Bot", an Indie Short Film in San Antonio

WILLIAM – 7 to 10 years old. Plays an 8 –year-old boy dealing with the loss of his mother. He’s inventive, intelligent, creative and highly imaginative, but underneath he is still just a little boy who needs his mom. Seeking an actor with a vast emotional range and the professionalism that can carry the narrative as the lead.

DAVID – 30 to 45. William’s father, a businessman whose polished appearance and move-on attitude mask his own inner emotional struggle with grief. He is newly in love and is introducing his son to the new girlfriend for the first time. He is nervous and hopeful. He has his son’s best interests in mind, though is not the most present father.

NANA – 55 to 75. Nana is the comic relief of the film. She comes to babysit William, although really spends the whole day watching soap operas. She is a “seen it all” type who does have a very touching emotional scene with William, who she loves dearly, although sometimes in a smothering way.

MOM-BOT 1.0 – 25 to 40. Female. William’s mother in a photograph, will also play the first prototype of his invention. She’s beautiful, maternal, and warm in appearance, but her inflection and movements do not quite match true human communication. Think mannequin, only slightly less human than real.
