2. LSJ Media, a Gannett company, has an opening for a Multimedia Editor. This position will assign, edit and manage multimedia staff and content (video, Livestream, photo, audio, etc.). This manager works with editors and reporters to brainstorm relevant multimedia content for all platforms and ensure the optimal production schedule. This includes planning multimedia content in conjunction with existing teams or for solo digital projects.

The multimedia editor is engaged with breaking news teams to create smart and sophisticated multimedia presentations. Duties include maintenance of equipment/systems/software for LSJ multimedia production, ensuring that at all three sites have efficient and current tools to meet the needs of our audiences. There is a significant training component to this position. It will focus on developing shooting and editing skills, particularly those related to iPhone videos.

The chosen candidate will assist with helping to focus and better implement our newsroom-wide multimedia strategy. That will include editing and coordinating everything from clip video to highly produced multimedia projects. A special emphasis will include the continuing evolution of our photo department from a focus on the still image to one that embraces multimedia daily.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following:

2-4 years experience as working visual journalist (video or photo)
Applicants must have proficiency with Final Cut Pro and DSLR cameras.
Working experience in Photoshop, Motion, Soundtrack and Aperture is also a requirement.
Working experience with Final Cut, Avid and basic video editing tools
Experience with production in PC and Mac-based software.
